At Sidewood, it’s all about capturing the true flavours of the fruit in the cider. made the conscious decision to make its Cider as natural as possible, and unlike many other products on the market, no sugar is added to Sidewood cider. In fact, the cider only contains fruit. Sidewood’s hand-crafted premium ciders are sourced only from orchards in the cool climate of the Adelaide Hills. The six-week process starts within the orchards as the fruit is carefully hand-selected for flavour and acidity. To retain the fresh natural flavours the fruit is crushed and then cool fermented at the Sidewood Cidery within hours of picking.
Traditionally, mass-produced ciders can be comparatively sweet tasting as they often include concentrate or added sugar.
In 2017, Sidewood won World’s Best Pear Cider at the World Cider Awards in London proving that Darryl Catlin and his team are doing a lot right.e
