The 2024 Sidewood Mappinga Chardonnay is a flagship Adelaide Hills Chardonnay made from estate‑grown fruit, wild‑yeast fermented in large‑format French oak, and recognised with a Best White Wine in Show trophy.

A powerful yet finely detailed Chardonnay, the 2024 Mappinga combines concentration, texture and mineral drive, showing both immediacy and long‑term potential.

Aroma

Lifted aromas of white peach, nectarine and grapefruit, layered with subtle grilled hazelnut and flinty complexity.

Palate

Concentrated stone fruit and citrus flavours are framed by saline minerality and fine oak tannins, delivering power, precision and shape.

Finish

Long, mineral and structured, finishing with energy and a line of acidity that will reward careful cellaring.

VITICULTURE & VINIFICATION

Crafted from hand‑picked estate fruit, the wine was whole‑bunch pressed and wild‑yeast fermented in 100% large‑format French oak.

Ten months in barrel built texture and structure, with oak used as a framing element rather than a dominant flavour.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS

A balanced Adelaide Hills growing season allowed even ripening, preserving natural acidity while developing flavour concentration and energy.
