Tasting Notes
Appearance is pale tawny brown in colour, with a golden, caramel hue. Displaying lifted spiced notes, golden syrup, figs, coffee and honeyed fruit. The Sidewood 22 year old Tawny is dense and layered on the palate, softly and elegantly coating the entirety of the mouth with a rich viscosity. Flavours of Christmas Pudding, Honeycomb, Toffee, Caramel, Sultana and Fig explode onto the palate. Oak has offered a lot of spice to the wine, giving sweet cooking spice notes towards the mid palate. High alcohol content of the wine giving beautiful heat and warmth. While high in sugar, it doesn’t feel overtly sweet nor cloying and is very well balanced with acidity. This wine finishes with characters of figs, prunes, and burnt honeycomb remaining on the palate. This tawny leaves a warming sensation to the finish, like a warm hug.

Enjoy by itself, alongside cheese platters or affogato.
