A contemporary cool-climate Syrah that blends innovation with tradition. Crafted in small batches from handpicked fruit, this Adelaide Hills release showcases aromatic lift, elegance and textural finesse.

TASTING NOTES

Complex and expressive, with aromas of freshly baked pastry, green apple and citrus. The palate is rich yet balanced, showing nectarine, citrus curd and pear, with a subtle mineral edge and a long, crisp finish.

ANALYSIS

A refined traditional method sparkling blend (65% Chardonnay / 35% Pinot Noir), combining freshness with depth. Extended lees ageing (6 years) builds texture and complexity, while moderate dosage (4.5 g/L) balances richness with a clean finish. Full malolactic fermentation enhances creaminess without sacrificing structure.

VINIFICATION

Made from handpicked Chardonnay and Pinot Noir fruit. The free-run juice is gently pressed and fermented in tank, followed by a second fermentation in bottle. The wine is aged on lees for over six years to build complexity and fine bubbles before being carefully disgorged.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS

Adelaide Hills cool-climate conditions supported bright acidity and aromatic purity. The blending of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir provides both structure and elegance, ideal for extended ageing.

"A blend of 65/35% chardonnay/pinot noir. The wine offers up volleys of salted butter, corn nuts, gingery spice, green apple, green stone fruits, a touch of white balsamic vinegar – the bouquet and palate agreeing on these descriptors. The texture is a little cloying but works alongside vigorous bubbles and a laser-like core of briny acidity. Quite the pedigree here, and refreshment factor, and good times."
