Warm, Bright, Structured

A 96‑point, multi‑award‑winning Adelaide Hills Shiraz showcasing the depth, complexity, and elegance of cool‑climate winemaking.

This estate-grown wine combines dark fruit, spice, and refined structure, shaped by a combination of clones from across our vineyards and 18 months in French oak. Backed by international gold medals and strong consensus from leading critics, it delivers exceptional quality and value in every glass.

TASTING NOTES

Deep crimson in the glass. Aromas of dark cherry, plum, and blackberry are interwoven with lifted notes of violet, white pepper, and subtle spice.

The palate is supple and expressive, with juicy dark fruit framed by fine, silky tannins. Gentle oak influence adds warmth and structure, while bright natural acidity carries the wine through a long, balanced finish with hints of spice and savoury complexity.

VINIFICATION

Estate-grown fruit from the Adelaide Hills is grown with minimal intervention and harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve both fruit intensity and natural acidity. Fermented in small batches to retain parcel character, with careful temperature control to enhance aromatics. Matured in a combination of seasoned and select French oak barrels to build structure and complexity without overpowering the fruit.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS

The 2022 season in the Adelaide Hills was cooler than average, with extended ripening providing excellent flavour development and natural balance.

These conditions favoured elegant, medium-bodied red wines with lifted aromatics, fine tannins, and bright acidity. The resulting Shiraz reflects clarity of fruit, spice, and a distinctly cool-climate structure.

AWARDS & REVIEWS

96 Points | James Halliday's Wine Companion 2024
"Fashioned from 12 different estate-grown clones, fermented in small batches (for those clones) partial wild yeast and extended maceration, matured for 18 months in French oak (30% new), ultimately a barrel selection. Black cherries are at the centre of this beautifully poised wine. It's a first-class wine at an incredibly low price."

96 Points | Patrick Eckel, The Wine Reviewer 2024
"A vibrant red in the glass with a nose of black plum that is supported by pepper, charcuterie and earth. The palate is more old world than new with savoury, meat and earth characters masterfully integrated with concentrated but balanced dark berry fruits. There is a twist of spice and richness that adds dimension to the mid palate before tannins that have a touch of pepper and iodine like influence bring things to a close. Drinking well now and will cellar.
Incredible value as always."

94 Points | Tony Love, Wine Pilot 2024
"An impressive estate wine that comes from a serious amount of detailed work in the vineyards across the Hills – for a start 12 separate clones that bring a range of complex characters into play before 18 months maturation in larger oak formats, 30% new. The red to crimson fruit profile is perfectly sweet and spicy, the latter a sprinkling of ground white pepper. Medium bodied with a decent presence of tannins in the mouthfeel, the wine is neatly balanced and structured. Most desirable, and terrific value in terms of its detail."
