International Award Winning Week for Sidewood
It has been an award winning week for Sidewood on the international competition circuit.
Sidewood’s 2017 Estate Sauvignon Blanc took out Double Gold; Best Sauvignon Blanc or Fume, and Best Sauvignon Blanc over $15 at the Jerry D. Meads New World International Wine Competition while the 2015 Estate Shiraz won a coveted Diamond Trophy at the 2018 Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards.
The Sakura Awards most prestigious accolade was awarded to 47 wines from the 4,234 entries.
Sidewood collected five Golds in total at the show. Sidewood’s 2015 Shiraz and NV Sparkling both won Double Gold’s with the 2015 Sidewood Estate Shiraz then going on to be selected for a Diamond Trophy, while the 2017 Sidewood Estate Pinot Gris,2016 Sidewood Estate Pinot Noir and 2015 Stable Hill Mustang Shiraz all collected Gold Medals.
The Sakura’ Japan Women’s Wine Awards are a unique international wine competition in that the judges are all exclusively women. The Awards were created to expand the appreciation of quality wines in the Japanese market, recognize superior wines that compliment Japanese cuisine and increase opportunities for women to work in the Japanese wine industry.
Jerry D. Mead’s New World International Wine Competition was officially established as an independent competition in 1991.
