Sidewood inks two new deals for the sports fans in 2018

Adelaide Hills’ winery, Sidewood Estate continues to be in the hearts and minds of sports’ fans in 2018, with the local winery signing off on a multi-year deal to continue as Port Adelaide Football Club’s Official Wine Partner. In addition to footy, Sidewood is adding South Australian netball to its growing list of sports’ sponsorships, after confirming an exciting new Wine and Cider sponsorship deal with the Adelaide Thunderbirds  for their upcoming season.

This new relationship with Netball SA and women’s sport through the Thunderbirds will complement Sidewood’s continued partnership with Port Adelaide Football Club  after they signed on for a third and fourth year as the AFL Club’s Official Wine Sponsor. Both partnerships will see Sidewood continue its leadership in the South Australian market as one of the state’s most loved wine brands and proud supporter of local sport.

Owner, Owen Inglis  spoke about the opportunity this partnership provides Sidewood in celebrating the best in South Australian sport:

“Sharing the same ambitious energy and passion for success has created great synergy between both Sidewood and Port Adelaide and the Adelaide Thunderbirds which is why we’re excited to see where these mutually beneficial partnerships can take our brands in 2018.”

“Both sponsorships will have a focus on our award-winning range of Sidewood wines from our Estate range which, combined with the multi-platform opportunities within the partnerships, will give us plenty of firepower to connect with wine lovers on a local and national level” Owen said.

Netball SA CEO, Ben Scales said he looks forward to welcoming Sidewood Estate as the organisation’s new wine partner.

“Sidewood Estate is renowned for its high-quality Adelaide Hills wines, and we are thrilled to partner with another iconic and successful South Australian brand,” he said.

“Sidewood Estate are great supporters of sport in the state, and it’s fantastic their support now extends to netball.”

In what continues to be an amazing 12 months for Sidewood, the winery has received Five-Red Star accreditation from James Halliday and multiple international and national awards for their wines and ciders.  Sidewood has also realised unprecedented growth through the expansion of its wine and cider making facilities with the investment in and installation of multi-million dollar bottling and canning lines at their Nairne facility.

Both agreements incorporate pouring rights, promotions, giveaways, digital and social media activations, player sponsorship and consumer events.

The first home game date with Sidewood and PAFC showcasing their continued partnership will be in the first round of the 2018 season on 24 March against Fremantle at Adelaide Oval.
