2014 Mappinga Sauvignon Blanc

Pale straw with a vibrant hue in colour, this unique barrel fermented wine has luxuriant flavours of nashi pear and tropical fruit, with subtle hints of spice and vanilla. A lingering, herbaceous after taste, showing toast and green herbs, finishing with a divine citrus line. Time on lees gives a very creamy palate, generous complex and excellent definition.

"This is an outstanding sauvignon, which combines freshness and ripe varietal fruit with nutty, balsamic complexities. Tightly focused, with a clean dry finish (12.5% alcohol; screw cap). Drink over four to five years."

HUON HOOKE, SYDNEY MORNING HERALD

"Hand-picked from selected rows of the Oakbank Vineyard, whole bunch-pressed, free-run juice fermented on full solids, matured for 10 months in French oak made by Darryl Catlin. Given a larger than normal lease of life by its extended maturation in French oak, the flavours of fruit and oak are seamlessly joined, both contributing to a palate that is at once joyous but disciplined."
